What this policy covers
This policy explains how BalanceAhead collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the BalanceAhead website and application. BalanceAhead is designed for manual financial planning and does not request your online-banking username or password.
Information we collect
- Account information: your email address, authentication identifiers, and plan status.
- Information you provide: account names and balances, income, bills, debts, goals, planned expenses, optional institution sign-in URLs, preferences, and feedback. We do not ask you to save institution usernames or passwords.
- Billing information: subscription status, Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, and transaction status. Complete payment-card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by BalanceAhead.
- Technical information: basic device, browser, page-view, referral, and diagnostic information supplied through hosting, analytics, and security services.
- Local storage: a copy of your plan and preferences may be stored in your browser to operate the app and synchronize changes.
How we use information
We use information to provide forecasts and planning tools, authenticate accounts, synchronize data, manage subscriptions, provide support, maintain security, diagnose problems, measure product use, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
Service providers and disclosure
We use service providers including Supabase for authentication and data storage, Vercel for hosting and analytics, Stripe for subscription billing, and Resend for service emails. They process information for BalanceAhead under their own security and privacy terms. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transfer.
Retention and deletion
We retain account information while your account is active and as reasonably needed to operate the service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud, and meet legal or accounting obligations. You can download your current data from Settings → Data & web app and request permanent deletion from Settings → Account & data. Deletion cancels an active Pro subscription immediately and removes the account and BalanceAhead data, subject to limited records we must retain by law or for legitimate security and transaction-record purposes. Browser copies on other devices may remain until those devices are cleared or used again.
Security
We use encrypted connections, authenticated access, row-level database controls, and access restrictions intended to protect information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security; keep access to your email account secure and contact us if you suspect unauthorized use.
Your choices
You may review and edit plan information in the app, download an export, manage billing through Stripe, or delete your account. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information. We will verify requests before acting.
Children
BalanceAhead is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy as the service changes. We will post the revised effective date and provide additional notice when a change is material.
